The French roulette wheel uses the same wheel and betting options found on European Roulette. However, while the games are identical, there are two big rules on the French variant that make a big difference.

The House Edge
The house edge of French roulette is identical to European roulette. This means it’s ‘stuck’ at 2.70%. That shouldn’t be surprising – after all, it’s based on European roulette. When compared to the American variant, its house edge is significantly lower. The American Roulette wheel has a house edge of 5.26%.
However, it doesn’t have the La Partage and En Prison rules that cut it down to 1.35%. The outside bets on the French roulette online table are the same as in European roulette. You can bet on odd/even numbers, red and black, low or high numbers or go for dozens.

Unlike outside bets, inside bets give you a chance to bet on single numbers. As such, the payout is way bigger. Betting on the ball to land on a single number comes with a 35:1 payout. That’s much more than any outside bet.
You can also bet on a combination of two (17:1), three (11:1), four (8:1), and six numbers (5:1). Inside bets are great for new players, but they’re aimed at experienced spinners. You’re far more likely to get an inside bet right if you’re experienced in roulette.
